Setting up RigStream on the Active Well

This article details how to setup RigStream on the Active Well in the Viewer.

Setting up RigStream on your Well

  • While in the Viewer, under the “Wells” dropdown select “RigStream Connection…” to open the “RigStream Connection” pop-up

  • In the “Edit RigStream Connection” pop-up, click the “Edit RigStream Well” button

  1. In the "RigStream Wells” pop-up, use the “RigStream Configuration” dropdown to select your WITSML/EDR vendor

  2. Select the correct Well Channel in the list

  3. Click the “OK” button to save your selection

  • Make sure to check the “Auto-update from the RigStream server” checkbox to activate this Well’s RigStream data feed

  1. Under the “Logs" tab, you can add new RigStream logs, edit the names of the log, delete logs, and set the “Active” log

    • Note: RigStream uses the Active log's data to populate the Well Status info

  2. You can set a Date/Time filter for the selected log to have RigStream cut out any unrelated data

  3. You can also add and remove WITSML logs as well as adjust their properties

    • Note: If a GR tool setback is not being auto-applied by the WITSML provider, make sure to set the GR tool setback so that RigStream can correctly depth correct the WITSML data

Setting a GR Tool Setback:

  1. Select the GR curve in the Curve List

  2. Click the "Edit Curve..." button

  1. In the Edit RigStream Curve Dialog Box, add the GR Tool Setback Distance in the "Sensor Offset" input box

  2. Click the "OK" button to apply these changes

  • The GR Tool Setback will now be listed in the Curve List under the Sensor Offset column

  • ZoneVu can pull log data from one vendor and survey data from another. To change which WITSML vendor you want to pull the survey data from, go to the “Survey” tab and click the “Change RigStream Trajectory” button

  • In the "Select RigStream Trajectory" dialog box, click the "Change RigStream Well" button

  1. In the "RigStream Wells” pop-up, use the “RigStream Configuration” dropdown to select your WITSML/EDR vendor

  2. Select the correct Well Channel in the list

  3. Click the “OK” button to save your selection

RigStream will not start pulling Survey data from the selected WISTML/EDR vendor

Please make sure the "Auto-update from the RigStream Server" checkbox is checked before exiting the "RigStream Connections" dialog box
